South Korea hits 6 mln IoT subscribers milestone

South Korea ended May with 5.95 million subscribers to Internet of Things (IoT) services, Yonhap news agency reports, citing data compiled by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning. The ministry also said 100,000 IoT subscribers are added on average per month. The IoT subscriber base growth was mainly boosted by the increasing number of services and gadgets using IoT technology offered by domestic operators SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus.
