South Korea to reallocate 3.7GHz to 4GHz spectrum for 5G services

South Korea plans to reallocate 3.7GHz to 4GHz spectrum currently used for satellite communications for the provision of 5G mobile services, ZDnet reports. According to South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT, there is increasing demand from 5G while at the same time, the country needs to reassess the efficiency of the way the 3.7GHz to 4GHz bands are used for satellite communications. The 6GHz band will also be released for provision of Wi-Fi services, the ministry said.
