South Korean FTC conditionally approves Microsoft/Nokia deal

The Fair Trade Commission (FTC), South Korea's antitrust watchdog, conditionally approved Microsoft's merger with Nokia's devices and services business after Microsoft agreed not to abuse its market dominant position, Yonhap News reported. Microsoft signed the Nokia deal in September 2013 and formally reported it to the South Korea's corporate regulator two months later. The FTC has since engaged in formal deliberations to address all concerns over market restrictions and conflict of interest issues.
