South Sudan invited to connect to broadband via Kenya

The Kenyan government has invited South Sudan to connect to the recently laid fibre optical cables that span the East African region. The invitation was made by Kenyan Ambassador Bruce Madete during a meeting with the South Sudan's Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Barnaba Marial Benjamin. Madete explained that the invitation is part of the East African Community programmes.The minister said that Kenya is connected through a cable in Turkana near Eastern Equatoria, and if South Sudan would be interested in connecting to broadband, Kenya is open for dialogue on the matter.
