South Sudanese govt takes 25% in new telecoms firm Niletel

The government of South Sudan government has launched Niletel in partnership with Sudanese businessman Ashraf Seed Ahmed, reports Xinhua. Government spokesman Michael Makuei said the state will have a 25 percent stake in Niletel and the rest will be owned by Sudan's Ashraf group. Makuei said the partnership will help improve service delivery in country, as the government will have greater control of the corporation.
