Spain regulator proposes new fixed line portability rules

Spain's telecoms regulator CNMC has launched a public consultation relating to the fixed line portability market, in a bid to facilitate user requests to change their landline and internet provider. The regulator proceeded to make a number of proposals after detecting a widespread failure on the part of telecoms operators to inform users about cancellation procedures and their consequences. As a result, the regulator responded to a complaint from broadband operator Jazztel by proposing a series of requirements to be implemented by operators before 15 November.
