Spain's BBVA sets up Next Technologies unit

Spanish bank BBVA has announced that it's merging two existing units – cloud and big data provider Beeva and cybersecurity specialist i4S – to create a new company called BBVA Next Technologies focusing on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, big data and blockchain software. The new unit will employ some 1,200 experts in Spain and Mexico and will continue working with existing partners such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure, said the company.
