Spain's Libelium unveils surface smart parking device

Spanish wireless sensor maker Libelium announced the launch of a new version of its Waspmote Plug&Sense smart parking device, designed to help drivers detect available parking spots. The new device is half the size of the earlier model and can be mounted on road surfaces without any need for digging. The device also comes with a new sensor system that's fully compatible with LPWAN radio technologies – LoRaWAN and Sigfox – to enable long-range detection and low power consumption. The dual radio means it can be connected to the European 868 MHz band and the 900-930 MHz band in the US and
