Spain's Movistar sheds 33,500 mobile lines in May

Orange has again taken advantage of the contribution of recently-acquired operator Jazztel as well as its low-cost brands Amena and Simyo to lead Spain's monthly mobile portability figures in May. The Orange group added a net total of 17,400 lines thanks above all to the 36,000 customers gained by Jazztel and the 6,400 gained by Simyo. Rival Vodafone lost just 1,400 customers in a vast improvement on the previous month's net loss of 42,650 lines, while Movistar (Telefonica) shed some 33,500 mobile customers in May. Spain's fourth mobile operator, Yoigo, posted a net loss of 600 customers,
