Spain's Red.es to fund Valencia smart city project

Spain's ICT development agency Red.es has announced that it will be allocating EUR 4.2 million of public funds to support Valencia's new 'Impulso VLCi' smart city project. The initiative launched by Red.es head David Cierco and Valencia councillor for electronic administration Pere Fuset aims to achieve a more sustainable, technological, connected and participatory city that improves the quality of life and welfare of citizens and visitors alike. Red.es is financing 70 percent of the project thanks to the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), with the city financing the rest.
