Spanish consumers to pay for DTT retuning

Spaniards will again have to pay for the new DTT migration following the completion of the so-called digital dividend by 01 January 2015. The government recently confirmed that the new digital dividend plan governing the whole migration process will be approved by June and the latest shift in the frequencies will be completed by the end of the year. The government estimates that the total cost of retuning will be around EUR 200 million and that over 8 million households will need to pay around EUR 23 each to readjust their SMATV antennas.
