Spanish court backs legality of Telefonica price hike

A Madrid court has backed Telefonica's interpretation of the term "para siempre" ("for good") in the advertising material used to promote its Movistar Fusion plan after dismissing an appeal lodged by a consumer against a May 2015 price hike, reports Europa Press. Madrid Court of First Instance no. 48 said the complaint couldn't be allowed to prosper because the consumer contracted the offer in 2014, while the advertising campaign dated back to 2012. In addition, clause 11 of the contract stated that rates were subject to change and that the consumer was free to cancel the contract at no extra
