Spanish court upholds CNMC's EUR 250,000 La Liga fine

Spain's national high court (Audiencia Nacional) has upheld a decision by communications and competition regulator CNMC to fine Spain's La Liga a total of EUR 250,000 for preventing the cameras of free-to-air broadcaster Mediaset (Cuatro and Telecinco) from entering stadiums during a football rights row. The fine was issued back in June 2017 and corresponded to the 24th and 25th match day of the top-tier La Liga Santander season and the 27th match day of the La Liga 1, 2, 3. The CNMC said Spanish viewers had a right to information under the country's audiovisual law irrespective of La Liga's
