Spanish email use at lowest level since 2002 - study

Email use in Spain has fallen to its lowest level since 2002 and has even been overtaken in popularity by the OTT chat service WhatsApp, according to data released by government research body AIMC. The findings corresponding to the first quarter of 2014 reveal that 78.2 percent of Spanish residents aged over 16 used email in the past month, which is two points down on the same period of 2013 and represents the lowest percentage recorded since 2002.
