Spanish operators signed up a further 41,397 fibre to the home (FTTH) subscribers in April, well down on previous monthly results due to coronavirus restrictions imposed by the government. The latest official monthly update from regulator CNMC revealed that there were 10.5 million active FTTH connections in the country, up around 1.5 million in the year to end of April, more than offsetting a 1 million decline in DSL lines to 2.3 million. HFC lines fell to 2.2 million, bringing the fixed broadband total to 15.3 million compared to 14.9 million a year earlier.
