Spanish FTTH subs up 119,000 to 11 mln in August

Wednesday 2 December 2020 | 15:10 CET | News
Spanish operators added a further 119,000 fibre to the home (FTTH) subscribers in August to increase the number of active connections in the country to just shy of 11 million, according to the latest monthly update from regulator CNMC. Fibre lines rose by 1.4 million in the year to end of August, easily offsetting a 0.8 million decline in DSL lines to 2.1 million, said the watchdog. HFC lines also came to 2.1 million, down around 70,000 year on year, bringing the fixed broadband total to 15.53 million, up from 15.03 million a year earlier.
