Spanish govt confirms DTT award, excludes Prisa and Vocento

The Spanish government has officially confirmed the widely reported decision to award six new DTT channels to Atresmedia, Mediaset, Real Madrid TV, Grupo Secuoya, 13TV and radio group Radio Blanca (Kiss FM). The confirmation means the media groups Prisa and Vocento, among other bidders including supermarket giant El Corte Ingles, have all missed out, with both already having announced possible appeals. Vocento said its application had been "technically flawless" and that it had been overlooked for "political reasons", while Prisa claimed the award of further licences to Mediaset and
