Spanish MVNOs gain ground in August portability figures

Spain's three leading operators, Movistar (Telefonica), Vodafone and Orange, shed 6,000, 35,400 and 12,700 mobile customers respectively in August, according to the monthly survey of ported lines published by the website Economiza. Movistar's figures, albeit negative, represented the operator's best monthly result in years, a sharp improvement on the 60,000 mobile clients it lost in March, mainly due to the success of its recently revamped convergent offers. Vodafone's monthly net loss was partly offset by the results of its low-cost MVNO brand, Lowi, which attracted around 6,600 new
