Spanish regulator reduces wholesale fixed line rental rates

Friday 23 May 2014 | 12:17 CET | News
Spain's telecoms regulator CNMC has announced significant reductions to the price of wholesale access to the fixed telephone network (AMLT). The reduction represents the first change to the AMLT rate in the past 3 years and means that the cost of indirect access will be lower. Basic monthly rates have been reduced by up to 20 percent and those of new subscriptions by up to 42 percent. This wholesale service allows subscribers who have fixed voice services with an alternative operator to receive a single bill that includes the monthly line rental charged by the incumbent operator (Telefonica)
