Spanish TV ad spend grows 10% in 2014 - study

The Spanish TV advertising sector grew for the first time in several years in 2014, according to a report from Barlovento Comunicaciones. The preliminary data for the first nine months of the year suggests that a total of EUR 1.8 to 1.9 billion was invested in TV advertising in 2014, up nearly 10 percent from the 1.7 billion invested in 2013. The figure was reached in spite of the fact that the signal of nine DTT channels was switched off in May following a Supreme Court ruling, reducing the number of DTT channels in Spain by 37.5 percent, from 24 to 15.
