Spanish TV viewing hours up a third in April

The Covid-19 lockdown in Spain has prompted an unprecedented surge in TV viewing hours, with April 2020 breaking all records as the month with the most TV consumption in the country's history, according to data released by communications regulator CNMC. The average person spent some 4 hours and 42 minutes a day watching TV in April, some 32 percent more than the year-earlier figure of 3 hours and 31 minutes, as television reinforced its status as the main reference medium for information on the evolution of the pandemic as well as for entertainment, said the watchdog.
