Spanish watchdog proposes cutting fixed termination rates by a third

Spain's communications regulator CNMC has launched a public consultation on its proposal to cut fixed call termination fees by up to 34 percent over the next three years. Under the terms of its proposal, the fee charged by the country's fixed network operators to any other operator for terminating fixed line calls on its network would be reduced from the current 0.0817 eurocents a minute to 0.064 eurocents a minute in 2019, then to 0.0591 eurocents a minute in 2020 and finally to 0.0543 eurocents in 2021.
