Sparkle and Go boost capacity of Italy-Malta bilateral cable

Sparkle, the international services arm of the Telecom Italia group, has joined forces with Maltese operator Go to update the Italy-Malta bilateral cable with 100GB transmission technology. In a joint statement the companies said the upgrade is designed to meet fast-growing demand for hosting and online gaming servers in Malta, which has led to a strong increase in IP and data business between Go and Sparkle. The project forms part of Gos recently announced EUR 100 million investment in Malta's communications infrastructure.
