Spending on telecom services, pay TV services rises 1% to USD 1.6 tln in 2018

Worldwide spending on telecom services and pay TV services increased 0.8 percent year-on-year to USD 1.615 trillion in 2018, according to data from IDC. Researchers expect worldwide spending on telecom and pay TV services to reach USD 1.657 trillion in 2023. Mobile services will continue to dominate the industry in terms of spending, with mobile data still expanding, driven by the booming smartphone markets.
