Sprint to raise USD 3.5 bln with spectrum mortgage

Sprint said it plans to raise USD 3.5 billion through an offering of about 14 percent of its mobile spectrum, which it then intends to lease back. Sprint, part of the SoftBank Group, estimates the airwaves at around USD 16.4 billion. The spectrum portfolio includes FCC licenses and a small number of third-party leased license agreements.
