Starbucks launches m-payment app for Android

US-based coffee company Starbucks has released its mobile payment offering for Android-powered smartphones. The app is designed to enable customers to load their Starbucks prepaid card accounts into a mobile app. After the cashier scans the bar code the app generates, money is deducted from the prepaid account to fund the purchase. Starbucks has developed the Android app in partnership with US mobile financial services provider mFoundry.
