StarHub launches location-based mobile advertising service

Thursday 24 April 2008 | 11:12 CET | News
Singaporean communications provider StarHub has commercially rolled out nationwide location-based mobile advertising service. For advertisers, the service offers a marketing strategy that allows them to generate almost immediate sales by pushing specific marketing or promotional SMS messages to StarHub mobile customers when they are in the proximity of the pre-defined zone. StarHub mobile customers will receive SMS of special promotions and discounts from participating retail merchants. At launch, WTS Travel & Tours, Singapore's travel agency and fleet-owner, will be using the service to inform potential customers of their new promotions and deals. Several other merchants will also support StarHub's location-based mobile advertising service.
