Berlin-based start-up wysker started the presale phase of what is reported to be Germany's first "initial coin offering" (ICO) on 02 October 2017, in order to fund the launch of its blockchain-powered mobile shopping app using a cryptocurrency called wys tokens. The app is due to be launched following the completion of the ICO on 01 December, and the company hopes to raise around USD 25 million via this method. The app wants to do for shopping what Tinder did for dating, wysker founder Tobias Haag told Manager Magazin.
