State Council rejects Canal Plus request to lift injunction

France's State Council has rejected Canal Plus's request to lift an injunction imposed by the Competition Authority in July as part of the merger of TPS and CanalSat, Les Echos reports. The high court found that there was no condition of urgency to lift the commitments set by the Competition Authority and will rule on the full merits of the case before the end of the year. The Competition Authority set obligations including making three Canal Plus film channels available to ISPs, reaching distribution agreements with at least 55 percent of independent channels in non-discriminatory
