Stokab connects nearly all multi-residence homes

Wednesday 19 December 2012 | 11:54 CET | News
Metropolitan network Stokab said nearly every multi-residence property in Stockholm has been connected to its fibre optic grid, giving retail consumers the opportunity to access broadband internet services at 1 Gbps in both directions. Other homes have access to speeds of around 50 Mbps using other technology. Stokab said its four-year plan has been completed on time and within budget. Stokab is owned by Stockholm city council and is charged with stimulating development in the region by providing an open and operator-neutral fibre optic network.
