Streaming drives German music revenues to EUR 740 million

The German music sales have grown by 2.9 percent year-on-year to EUR 740 million for the first half of this year, according to figures provided by Germany's Federal Music Industry Association (BVMI). The revenue from streaming services has grown by 21.8 percent year-on-year but was not yet enough to become the music format with most revenues. That is still CDs with 44.7 percent of all music revenues, followed by streaming with 34.7 percent, which is 10.3 percentage points more than in H1 2016. Digital downloads are the third largest format with 10.9 percent followed by vinyl that grew to 5
