SUNRISE/DIAX LAUNCHES GPRS SERVICE

Sunrise/Diax (Switzerland), mobile phone operator, has launched the first GPRS mobile data service in Switzerland. The company will charge SFr7.50/Mbyte downloaded, which would enable around 2k WAP pages to be downloaded at this price. The only handset currently available to work with the service is the Motorola Timeport 260 model, which offers a maximum data transmission rate of 28 kbits/sec.
