Superfast Cornwall impact worth GBP 250 mln by June 2016

The Superfast Cornwall fibre broadband programme has brought GBP 186.1 million of economic benefit to the region, according to new independent research from SERIO at Plymouth University and Buckman Associates. The research estimates that more than 12,000 Cornish companies are connected to the high-speed network, resulting in 2000 new jobs being created and an additional,500 safeguarded. The report predicts that the economic impact will increase to over GBP 250 million by June 2016, one year after completion of the first stage roll-out.
