Swazi govt moves telecoms, TV regulation to new commission

The Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) will no longer have the power to regulate the country's telecoms industry. The Communications Commission Bill has been passed by Parliament and will transfer the regulatory powers and functions from SPTC to a new commission when the law comes into full force. The law also transfers the regulatory powers of the Swaziland Television Authority (STVA), relating to the issuance of TV transmission licences, to the commission.
