Sweden adds digital competence to school curriculum from autumn 2018

Swedish internet foundation IIS said it has held a training day for approximately 70 school teachers, a year before digital competence is added to the national school curriculum in autumn 2018. Speaking in March 2017, Education Minister Gustav Fridolin said the aim was to provide pupils with the knowledge they needed in order to understand and to influence the world, regardless of which school they attended. Sweden had lacked a concerted national responsibility for digitisation in schools, he said.
