Swedish 4G subscriptions rise by 572,000 in H1

Swedish postal and telecoms regulator PTS said that in the first half of 2013, there were 811,000 subscriptions for 4G services, up by 572,000 since the turn of the year. PTS director general Goran Marby said this is a breakthrough year for LTE. Demand for mobile broadband services is strong, faster networks are being developed, and the latest mobile devices support 4G, he said. In its report for the Swedish telecoms market for the first six months of the year, PTS said the number of subscriptions to smartphones rose 30 percent to 5.4 million by 30 June, and mobile data traffic was 68 percent
