Swedish broadband investment rises to SEK 10.6 bln in 2014

State subsidies to foster broadband growth has had a positive effect on operators' interest in expanding into rural areas of Sweden, on various parties' involvement, on customer demand for fibre, and on investments. Swedish postal and telecoms regulator PTS said investment in fixed and mobile broadband has rose from almost SEK 10 billion in 2013 to SEK 10.6 billion in 2014. Operator's interest in service detached homes his risen, too. Several parties say that the expansion in these areas will continue or even grow.
