Swedish farm board delays broadband funding decisions

Monday 19 October 2015 | 12:00 CET | News
The Swedish Broadband Forum, which brings together public and private players in the sector, said the Agriculture Board has delayed its decision on financial support for broadband under the new rural development programme until the middle of November. This is because criticism from the Competition Authority has necessitated changes to the regulations. So far, over 600 local fibre associations have applied for over SEK 2 billion in funding. Payments are expected to be made in spring 2016, without any delay.
