Swedish law on networks and information systems enters force on 01 August

Swedish communications regulator PTS said a law on networks and information systems (NIS) comes into force on 01 August and the watchdog has been made one of the agencies responsible for overseeing it. The law will impose new security requirements for NIS on companies providing crucial public and internet services. Under the law, firms must treat information security in a systematic fashion taking risks into account, and must report any incidents to the Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB).
