Swedish new buildings must make broadband connection easy

Tuesday 14 February 2017 | 12:26 CET | News
The Swedish parliament has decided to bring in a requirement that certain new homes must have a broadband connection, according to the Swedish Broadband Forum. This is part of the implementation of the European Parliament and Council's directive 2014/61 dating from 15 May 2014 to cut the cost of expanding high-speed internet. The obligation applies to the way buildings should be fitted, rather than forcing builders to connect houses to a network.
