Swedish PTS says imported dog trackers cause interference

Swedish postal and telecoms regulator PTS said it is illegal to use radio equipment that does not conform with European Union requirements, as it can interfere with other radio broadcasts. PTS said dog tracking devices that use GPS have become more and more popular with hunters in recent years. Many import trackers from the US that use frequencies that are not permitted for this purpose in Sweden. Using one could end in a gaol sentence of up to six months. Devices must comply with the directive on terminal devices 1999/5/EG and most be CE-marked. The packaging must also have a declaration of
