Swiss are biggest spenders on ICT worldwide - study

Switzerland has the highest spending per capita on information technology and telecommunications worldwide, according to a new study from the European Information Technology Observatory and Bitkom. The study found Swiss people on average spend EUR 3,240 per year on IT and communications technology. This result closely mirrors results from 2015, according to Bitkom. Close behind is the US, with an average per capita spending of EUR 2,963, a 3 percent increase on the year prior. Denmark, Sweden, the UK and Norway took the next four places, with an average spend above EUR 2,000 per person.
