Swiss consumers to get VAT refund on radio, TV licence fee from 2010 until mid-2015

Thursday 15 November 2018 | 11:13 CET | News
The Swiss Federal Supreme Court has partially approved the four model claims of the Consumer Protection Association and of its two partner organisations, FRC and ACSI. According to the decision, the regulator Bakom must pay the applicants the VAT wrongly levied between 01 January 2010 and 15 June 2015. Following this judgement and several political initiatives, the federal government wants to repay the VAT in the form of a lump sum to all 3.7 million households. The lump sum will probably range between CHF 50 and CHF 70.
