Swiss government to start charging foreign e-commerce firms VAT on deliveries in 2019

Online shopping on foreign websites will be more expensive for the Swiss from 2019, reported ITreseller.ch. The Federal Council has decided that mail order companies will have to pay VAT in Switzerland from a certain revenue level. The Federal Council aims to protect Swiss online retailers against cheap competition from abroad and provide equality of opportunities.
