Swiss media commission calls for broadcast regulations to apply to streaming providers

The Swiss Federal Media Commission (EMEK/Cofem) has called for existing regulations for broadcasters to be expanded to cover streaming services. Streaming providers contribute to increasing competition and diversity, especially in the entertainment sector, but they are not subject to the same regulations as broadcasters, the regulator said in a report on the changing media landscape and impact of digital platforms.
