Swiss parliament rejects national digital education policy

The Swiss parliament has rejected a motion for the national government to take a greater role in promoting digitisation in primary and secondary schools. The motion proposed by the Committee for Science, Education and Culture would see the National Council working more closely with the cantons on developing the digital skills of both teachers and pupils, both to prepare them for the working world as well as to educate them on risks of digital technology. The Council said the motion was not needed, as it was already working on the issue under the 'Digital Switzerland' strategy presented last
