Swisscom threatens to drop Huawei as supplier

Swisscom is threatening to discontinue its cooperation with Huawei following the raid on Huawei's Duebendorf subsidiary, Swiss IT Reseller reported, citing Handelszeitung. Swisscom said it would sever ties with the Chinese equipment maker if it does not adhere to Swiss laws. Swisscom is looking at ways to reduce its dependency on Huawei and CEO Carsten Schloter said it is looking for other suppliers. In February, Swisscom signed a fibre optic expansion deal with Huawei worth CHF 300 million over eight years.
