Swisscom to deploy G.fast standard

Tuesday 5 May 2015 | 11:15 CET | News
Swisscom has announced that it will introduce the new G.fast standard to achieve bandwidth of up to 500 Mbps. The fast connections require that Fibre to the Building (FTTB) or Fibre to the Street (FTTS) has already been deployed. The maximum length of the copper cable to the building is 200 metres, otherwise Swisscom will not provide G.fast as it would not entail any advantages, according to Swisscom spokesperson Olaf Schulze.
