T-Mobile US becomes top smartphone sales channel in Q1

T-Mobile became the top smartphone sales channel in the US in Q1, after Verizon, according to Counterpoint Research. T-Mobile took an estimated 22.9 percent of the total smartphone shipments during the quarter, followed by Verizon (22.2%), AT&T (20.2%) and Sprint (16.7%). At the same time the US market has now moved to over half of customers on subscriptions without phone subsidies, a move driven by T-Mobile's pricing strategy.
