T-Mobile US notifies authorities about data breach that affected 'small single digit percentage'

T-Mobile US said its cybersecurity team has discovered and shut down a data breach, TmoNews reported, adding that authorities have been notified. The carrier said that only a "very small single digit percentage" of customers were affected and that no financial data or social security numbers were accessed, and no passwords were compromised. Information associated with prepaid wireless accounts was accessed, including names and billing addresses. Other data accessed includes phone number, account number, rate plan, and features brought on, like an international calling add-on.
